Morph:
Lemon Lime Hypo, Desert Ghost
Status: Proven Simple Recessive
When: RDR line is dead - unproven
By Whom: Mark and Kim Bell
The
"Lemon Lime Hypo" was an
adult female that I brought in from Africa
in 2000. At the time, the only snake that
was even close to "her look" was
NERD's Desert Ghost ( a young female ).
My female was more of a "greenish yellow"
color with super crisp black markings. As
of 2005 the Desert Ghost has been proven
to be a simple recessive trait and as adults
the Deserts DO become more of a "greenish
yellow" color....that's where the "lemon
/ lime" comes into "my name".
I'm sure my Limon Lime Hypo female was a
Desert Ghost............just an older one
and we were still not sure how the Deserts
looked as they matured at the time.
She
died of an infection that was passed on
to her from a female that was on breeder
loan from another breeder............both
the Lemon Lime female and the Lemon Pastel
female died do to a bad over-load of amoeba.
I was group breeding a VPI Axanthic male
to the Lemon Lime Hypo female and the Lemon
Pastel female. The VPI Axanthic male was
treated and survived. So I'll "never
know" if she was a Desert Ghost or
"something new"? I miss her ever
day still...........
You
can read more about her on the "Lemon
Lime Hypo" page in the "Collection
Section".
