03 clutch # 14.............:) 03 Clutch # 14 details.

This is the scoop on what happened with 03 clutch # 14..........back on 10/14/02 I introduced a "normal looking son" to his mother..........she is my "original" Phantom female out of Africa............she was raised from a baby and bred two previous years to my "Goblin" male..............each year her clutch produced "Phantoms", normals and "Markers"..............the "Markers" are what I called the snakes that looked like they had some "Goblin" traits.............so this season I started off by breeding her to one of her totally normal looking sons..........why?............I have no idea?..............I just wanted to see what she would produce without the "Goblin" influence and to see if line breeding her back to a son would do anything??.........nothing that I could see happened............her son was not interested in her at all.............so then I decided to put a Pastel male in with her............I figured it would be cool to breed two co-doms together...........I was looking for a cool looking "cross" between the Phantom and the Pastel................again..............this male did not seem interested............so then I put a male Blonde Pastel in with her..............he did court her.............but I never seen them "hooked up".........I have produced eggs before and never witnessed breeding...........so I was not that concerned ............I just wanted her to lay eggs!.............well I was able to palpate follicles in her shortly after she was with the Blonde Pastel male .............these follicles that I felt were maturing...............so I was happy and figured that she was a "done deal".......I felt confident with the way the follicles felt, that I would get eggs from her...............then it happened ..............I said "what the heck".............I'm going to put a "Lesser Platty" in the mix..............and I did..............I bred three "Lesser Platty" males through her..........the "Lessers" finished her breeding for the year...............her follicles matured while she was breeding the "Lesser" males.............she ovulated and laid 7 perfect eggs................I figured that either the Blonde Pastel or the "Lessers" were the dads...............and yes I figured it was possible for the clutch to be "fathered" by both............I believe if you hit the "right window" during follicle maturity, that you can have two dads............maybe even more???...........so I was stoked.............I knew I had two co-dom genes working for me in this clutch.............all I wanted to see is if I could get two traits to hit on one snake...............like a " Blonde Phantom" or a "Phantom Lesser".................so I forgot about it and figured I would surely hatch out something cool in this clutch..............day 55 came and I decided to cut the eggs..............egg # 1 was a "Phantom".............egg # 2 was a "Phantom"................eggs # 3 and # 4 both appeared normal..................egg # 5 was a "Lesser Platty".....................egg # 6 was something different??..............I could see the head, and it was very faded like a Super Pastel...............the pattern was crazy like my Blonde Pastel's..............it looked like a "Super" of something??.................so I was happy..........I knew that egg # 6 had to be the "cross" I was looking for............so then I cut the last egg...............egg # 7............I slit the egg and opened it..............all I seen was red veins over a white body!!..........I was sitting on the floor of my incubator room staring at the egg in shock!!.............I couldn't believe what I was seeing...................it was like " fate"...............I have been wishing and wishing to hatch out a "Lucy" and it happened!.............I was actually scared .........I felt like I was being watched or looked over somehow?................it was kinda creepy.................the rest is history!!.............how in the hell this happened??......I do not know?....................I think the "lucy" was just a bonus....................could I have the genes to make "lucys".............sure I could...............but with the way this clutch evolved.................who knows what the heck happened?..................I know who the mom is................I think I know that there were two dads.................a Lesser and a Blonde.....................all I can do now is raise this clutch up and start working with it.................and try to do it again with the same parents next year??..................who knows??.............I named my new little "blue eyed lucy".........."Karma"...............anyone who knows what has been going down over the past couple years with me and " white snake" deals knows why she is named that..............bad karma will haunt you forever...............I believe that ...........................enough said..................I was blessed by the Ball Python Gods for sure this year...............and I'm very grateful for it............;)

0.1 Pastel-ish looking thing?? ( bottom )..........this looks to me like a Blonde Pastel crossed with a Phantom??...............who knows?
